It’s the first Hilton property in Jordan.
Located 1345 feet below sea level, the Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa just opened in Sweimeh, Jordan, and it looks stunning.
The resort is located at the lowest point on Earth on the eastern shores of the Dead Sea and is the newest property to open in the area. It is also Hilton’s first hotel in Jordan.
The Dead Sea has long been a destination spot for health-minded travelers, who seek the curative powers of the sea’s saline-saturated waters and mineral-rich black mud.
“The Dead Sea is one of the most unique places in the world and has evolved into a major hub of both religious and health and wellness tourism in the region,” Andreas Lackner, a Hilton executive who oversees brand management for the area, said.
Situated directly on the ocean, the resort has exclusive beach access as well as an infinity pool and sun deck. There’s also a 24-hour gym, but the spa is not scheduled to open until September 2017.
The hotel’s 285 guest rooms all have terraces with sea views. A recent search for a room in early April 2017 returned doubles from $140. Guests staying in executive rooms and suites will have access to the only executive lounge in the area.
Seven new restaurants offer plenty of dining options for guests, including the all-day Spectrum, Middle Eastern cuisine at 1312, Italian fare at Bacchus, a beach bar, and the Sky Bar rooftop lounge.
Nearby attractions within Jordan include the ruins at Jerash, the lost city of Petra, and the spectacular slot canyon at Wadi Mujib, located less than a half hour from the hotel.
